The Impact of Proposed SNAP Cuts
               on Students and Schools

Monday, June 16, 3:00 p.m. Eastern (2:00 p.m. Central, 1:00 p.m. Mountain, 12:00 p.m. Pacific)

Join FRAC, the School Nutrition Association, the National Education Association, and AASA, The School Superintendents Association for a webinar about what cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) could mean for students and school meal operations, along with steps you can take to encourage Senators to oppose cuts to SNAP.

The budget reconciliation bill that passed the House included historic cuts to SNAP and it is now under consideration in the Senate. Any cuts to SNAP that reduce the number of families receiving benefits will have a negative impact on school meals, because children in SNAP households are directly certified for free school meals.

The webinar is co-sponsored by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, American Federation of Teachers, the American Heart Association, Center for Science in the Public Interest, FoodCorps, MomsRising, and the School Nutrition Association.
