Community Eligibility Q&A: On the Fence About Community Eligibility? Still Have Questions on How it Works?
Thursday, August 6, 3:00 p.m. Eastern (2:00 p.m. Central, 1:00 p.m. Mountain, 12:00 p.m. Pacific)
Community eligibility currently allows over 30,000 high-poverty schools to offer breakfast and lunch at no charge to all students But as millions lose jobs and wages during the pandemic, many more schools are becoming eligible to implement community eligibility and will find it to be a financially viable option. The economic impact of COVID-19 makes it more important than ever to ensure children have access to school meals. USDA extended the deadline for school districts to decide to implement community eligibility to August 31, 2020. Many school districts are in the process of making final decisions about whether or not to opt in before the beginning of the school year. Join this Q&A webinar to ask your remaining community eligibility questions before the August 31 deadline — no question is too basic and all questions are welcome.
