The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP): Reflecting on the Past and Shaping the Future

Tuesday, June 24, 3:00 p.m. Eastern (2:00 p.m. Central, 1:00 p.m. Mountain, 12:00 p.m. Pacific)

For over 50 years, the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) has provided funding to help cover the cost of nutritious snacks and meals served at eligible child care centers and family child care homes. Research shows that CACFP supports good nutrition and quality care in early care and education settings, yet the program remains underutilized.

This webinar, co-hosted by FRAC and the National CACFP Association, will provide an overview of the current landscape of participation in CACFP, including barriers to access as well as opportunities on the state and federal level to improve the reach of this critical program.

Speakers:

  • Clarissa Hayes, Deputy Director of Child Nutrition Programs & Policy at the Food Research & Action Center
  • Lauren Walcott, Emerson Hunger Fellow at the Food Research & Action Center
  • Alexia Thex, Vice President Policy, Partnerships & Events at the National CACFP Association
  • McKenzie Brunner, Policy & Outreach Specialist, National CACFP Association
